August goes out with a bang in Vermontville!

Vermontville - Potterville, Michigan tornado * August 24, 2007

We are okay ... the tornado hit about 2 miles from us and continued it's path of destruction to Potterville which is about 12 miles down the road.

Thank you to everyone who checked on us to see if we were okay.

Here are photos we snapped. Some were taken the night of the event.

Others were taken the morning of August 28th, when the road reopened.

Vermontville Hwy closed ahead ... The tornado passed through a residential area destroying many homes and barns.

Lots of people out looking right after the storm.

And of course, we were some of them!

Dr. Bosworth's home and office ... retired veterinarian.

this photo and the photos that follow were taken when Vermontville Hwy reopened, August 28, 2007 -- this was a beautiful old restored Michigan barn.

The Shaffer home farm ... The home and barns were completely restored just a few years ago.

The horse farm across the street from the Shaffer farm. The huge barn and riding arena were untouched . We hope the horses are okay too.

Debbie Neff shares this photo of utility trucks parked at their fairgrounds in Ohio. The trucks departed for Michigan to assist in the storm cleanup.
