We met up with James & Heidi Smith in Syracuse, New York,
for the Leatherstocking Cluster.
Frozen water pails did not dampen our spirits! We had a great time!

On Saturday, we took a back road trip to the Fly Creek Cider Mill
where we tasted the delicious hard ciders and apple wines!
We also visited Cooperstown, New York ... the home of our great American sport, baseball!

We took an extra day on the way home to visit the Canadian Niagara Falls.
We arrived at dusk. We managed to click a few photos before dark.

Matt Cain, 4th grade student, grants actor, writer, musician &
Michigan resident, Jeff Daniels, a photo opp!

Matt is a frequent dog show visitor/match exhibitor and Amy's nephew.
Matt and his mom, Jill Cain (Amy's sister), are huge Jeff Daniels fans!
Matt & his mom attended a Jeff Daniels CD signing at Borders Books In Brighton, Michigan.
People in line were instructed autographs only. Absolutely, NO PHOTOS! When it was Matt's turn in line,
he had a question for Mr. Daniels.

Matt said to Jeff, "Are you really going to be The Preacher?"
Jeff looked up, a bit surprised by the question. Jeff said, "Do you mean
The Preacher in the movie, Because of Winn Dixie?"
Matt said, "yes."
Jeff said, "Do you like that book?"
Matt said, "I love it!"
Jeff said, "You know how sometimes movies aren't as good as the book? Well
this time I think you will like the movie just as much as the book. You can
see it in February."
Jeff and his publicist were so impressed with Matt's question, they asked Matt if he would pose
for a photo with Jeff. Matt graciously agreed. Jeff's publicist sent Jill an email copy of the above photo.

Jeff is a Chelsea, Michigan resident. He owns Purple Rose Productions
(Escanaba In Da Moonlight) and Purple Rose Theater in Chelsea, Michigan.
Jeff's hilarious new CD is titled "Live and Unplugged."
The proceeds from Jeff's new CD are earmarked for the Purple Rose Theater Fund.

Thornapple Buddy is a full brother to Goose, JayDe, Spitfire, Rain, Phoenix, Tucker & Fracas.
Buddy is in training to be a therapy dog at Children's Hospital in Detroit.
Isn't he just so darn cute!!!!
