Our Queensland Aussie Shepherd Club held
our Championship Specialty Show
on Saturday, and two of Tessa's sons, sired the blue merle dog
Challenge
who was Best in Show, and also the blue merle bitch challenge winner, who
was Reserve in Show, and Opposite Sex in Show. Our Murky Am & Aust Ch Thornapple
Markd By Darkness
sired the Best Baby in Show, a little blue
merle, the Minor Puppy in Show, a blue also,
and the Opposite Sex Puppy in
Show,a red merle. So the Thornapple influence is alive
and
well here in
our part of the World. Not a huge entry, approximately 50 aussies,
but the
quality was evident throughout the classes. The winning dog was bred
in
Sydney and traveled approx.1000 kms to the show.
For those who are unaware of who Tessa is, she is the lovely little blue
bitch Am CH Thornapple Shut Up N Kiss Me now nearly 11 years old,
who Vikki reared and steered to her American Title, and was mated to
Ch" The Forces Tonka Tuff " before sending out to us to whelp in our Sydney
Quarantine, to start a breeding nucleus for our Sasin Kennels. Four
of the
resulting litter of 5 got their Champion titles, and were all black tri in
color. One of this litter, our little 'show pony' Ch.'Sasin
American
Tuffguy" is the sire of the winning bitch, Ch. 'Sasin Northn Whisper'.

And Ami Boxer of Florida writes:
Hey All, We just got home from a great and soggy weekend in Miami. This was
Chante's (Thornapple Straight Up)
first show down in humid Florida and she did great!
On Saturday under Mrs. Bivens, Jake our red boy took WD/BOW/BOS and Chante
took a RWB. And then today Chante showed even better and took WB/BOW.
Now she only needs her majors and there are majors both days in
Lakeland in two weeks. My fingers are crossed! Ami
Snow in New Zealand!
Well we went to Wellington again this
weekend and Zippo got both the Male CC's this weekend so only
one more and he is a Champion! Keep your fingers crossed for next
weekend. Just had to send you this photo of my
daughter (Chelsea) standing in front of our van at a town called Waiouru
(in the middle of the North Island) where we drover
through on the main highway down to Wellington. They closed the
road about 1 hour after we went through so a lot of exhibitors
had to take the long way around. We have never driven in snow like
this in our lives and it is apparently very rare for New Zealand
to have quite so much so early in the season. I have other photos taken
while we were driving - Zippo was quite at home in the cold
weather, but we were all excited! Winter is coming fast.
Zippo has fully integrated with my other dogs and now spends his days
running with them in the garden. He comes into the house at night to
spend the evenings with us binding etc etc and to sleep.
Gets preferential treatment he does! Kisses from Zippo again and kind
regards from us
Betsy & Rain send news from North
Dakota!
Well, I have some show news.
Today Rain took a reserve to a 5 point major. I was very happy as he showed all
three days like a pro and was finally recognized. Ellen, Barbara Hager,
Blue Isle, says Hi. She is one fine lady.
She loved Rain and helped me TREMENDOUSLY with some grooming issues etc.
Kathryn (addressed to Kathryn Ross-Nash
too), the dog that Barbara was showing is sired by Victor and she
took a look at Rain and right away said Maverick.
Her dog took the major yesterday. I also had several people take a look
at Rain and smile and say he has to be a Reno relative.
We have shows this upcoming weekend in Minnesota so hopefully we will do
something there. You ladies have one of
the best reputations around. When people found out that Rain was a Thornapple
dog and sired by Maverick they had nothing but
GOOD to say! I was also told that I was very very lucky to have Thornapple
dogs. I said I know I am. The word about the quality
of your dogs is superb. I am only passing on what I heard this weekend
since all of you work very hard on doing things right
that you should know what the scuttle is in the ranks. Later, Betsy
We stayed home
this weekend to work on the yard. Aaron built flower beds!

flower beds!
Aaron, you forgot your sun screen!
Tom spread new dirt in the flower gardens
and prepared the back yard for a new puppy exercise area.
