APRIL 9 - April 1
2005

Hi Mom, Thought you would like this photo of Linda Wilson's NEW BREED.
Maybe you would like to post it in regular classes at the Nat's. LOL
See you later, your son, Mark Schlarb.

"SON, MARK" ... cleans up nicely, doesn't he!

We are home from the USASA Nationals!
USASA Nationals * Gonzales, Louisiana
April 3 - 9, 2005

THANK YOU KAREN BROADUS & COMPANY AND USASA FOR
YOUR SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY!
THE NATIONALS WAS TRULY AN EVENT TO REMEMBER!!!!!

We enjoyed a wonderful week with our dogs and Thornapple friends & family
from around the world!  We were delighted to meet NEW friends
and New Thornapple family members too!

As usual, it was all work and no play for the Thornapples in Louisiana!
Many National's attendees enjoyed airboat rides and alligators in the bayou
... some spent Thursday bar hopping on Bourbon Street in New Orleans (you all
know who you are!  LOL!), but us Thornapples,  were lucky to have time for dinner with
friends 2 nights while at Nationals.  Amy groomed from morning to night!  Shayna pottied
dogs ... Austen kept very busy playing with friends AND helped potty dogs.
Jenny Poe helped with handling, feeding and watering dogs. Jenny ran errands, got the kids
ready in the morning AND sorted through our show photos before she left the show site on
Saturday evening (a tough job!)  Jayne and Helene also helped potty dogs!  Maria handled dogs
and could be found bathing dogs most of the week. Debbie picked up numbers, kept us organized,
prepped dogs and delivered dogs ringside to Amy.  Phil and Vikki packed our equipment on
Saturday.  Thank you, all, for your help!  We couldn't do it without you!
Rasera joined us on Friday evening for the National's banquet. Frank was entertaining as usual,
giving us all lots of laughs!  Robin Prouty did her usual wonderful impersonation of  Vanna White
at the auction.  An original Amy Garrison necklace featuring a silver clay gaiting Aussie with a
silver clay paw print, mounted on a mother of pearl cabochon, sold for $175 at the
auction.  Thank you and Congratulations Kelly Curtin on your purchase!
The weather was spectacular!  The summer flowers are in full bloom and palm trees
abound. The rose bushes and azalea spill over with blooms in Gonzales.
Wisteria, rhododendron and red buds brightened our trip home through Mississippi!
We arrived home, in Michigan, totally exhausted, at 1:30 AM Monday morning!
We pray that USASA NEVER EVER holds Best of Breed on Saturday afternoon again!!!!
hint hint hint!

Our kids missed school on Monday making it 6 days off from school!

The lighting was so poor (we apologize for the poor quality photos)
and we were so busy, we didn't photograph all of the classes.
