Punch was bred by Kelly Hughes (Punchline Australian Shepherds) out

And Kathryn Ross-Nash reports in with Herding News from the ASCA Nationals!
Hey friends! a quick note from the insane world of nationals! GREAT to see Michael
and Bedford!!!! They are doing an amazing job!!! My little brag... in the pretrial - where
there were MANY dogs in the started class and talented handlers from all over - Our
little Thornapple boy
Goose- took 2ND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was only surpassed by the amazing
Rachel Vest. I was so happy. The judge even commented on his ability!!! I guess you can be
pretty and STILL work sheep!!!!!!!
WAY TO GO, KATH!!!!!  CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

October 3 **** KATH CALLS WITH HUGE  (N)EWES ;)))) !!!!!!
GOOSE is now CH Thornapple Wingman Of Te-Amos STDs!!!!!
AND Goose not only picked up all 3 legs for his new title this
week, but he also took his first open leg on sheep!
CONGRATULATONS, GOOSE & KATH ON A GREAT ASCA NATIONALS!!!!

INCREDIBLE ASCA NATIONAL HERDING NEWS FROM KAREN WILSON!!!!!
After waiting all day Michael finally called with results from the
ASCA National pre-trial.
I just couldn't be more proud of
Bedford and Michael!!!!!!! He was
able to run in all three rings yesterday. He was wait listed for
Sheep and didn't get in until the very last minute.
He scored 76 on Sheep. Michael said he was a bit rowdy!!!!! :-)))
but he qualified. He scored 80 on Ducks!! and qualified. This is
amazing as this is only the second time he's ever seen them. Also,
for those of you who don't heard. Ducks really show a dogs finesse.
Can't be rowdy with the quackenhoffer's :-))) Last but not least he
scored 80 on Cattle for a 2nd place!!!!!!!!! This was only the third
time he'd been on Cattle. He already had one qualifying score from
last Fall. So he earned his STDc ( Started Trial Dog cattle ) There
were 45 runs on Cattle and only 5 dogs qualified. You talk about proud!!!
He missed Combined High in Trial by 2 points!!!!!!
Michael really wanted that because those are special awards
which are usually fancy belt buckles and Michael really wants one of
those!!!!! LOL!!!! So all in all it was a really successful day. They don't compete
again until later in the week at the National trial. If he qualifies
on Sheep and Ducks at the National trial he could come home with all
three of his Started titles on stock!!!!!!!!! He is well on his way
to becoming a WTCH ( Working Trial Champion )
Ok, I'll stop bragging. But I just couldn't be more proud.
Thanks for letting me share.  Love, Karen
WAY TO GO MICHAEL & BEDFORD!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Alejandra Reyes, on your new boy, Icon!!!!

Thornapple I Call The Shots "Icon" arrived in Santiago, Chile on October 5th!
Icon will be shown at dog shows throughout South America.
Icon is sired by Ch Thornapple Single Barrel. His dam is Thornapple Flirtin' With Fire
Good luck with your most beautiful boy, Alejandra!

October 1 * 2007 * Grandpa Fred's BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW!
One year ago today, Ellen's father passed away after a valiant 9 month battle to recover from
a cardiac arrest. On the evening before he passed, a double rainbow brightened the dark sky at our
HVASA puppy match. (
Thank you Gwen Hayes for snapping photos) Little did we know that evening,
that it was Grandpa Fred's rainbow. One year later, Amy awoke to this spectacular rainbow! Amy knew
instantly it was Fred's beautiful rainbow! Fredrick Miller Jr. brightened our lives just as his rainbow
brightened Amy's morning! Fred LIVED for his champion Keeshonds and he LOVED his Thornapple
Family! He was very proud of all the Thornapple accomplishments around the world. Grandpa especially
LOVED our Junior Handlers. He was an avid dog show photographer taking many special photos of our Juniors.
He loved cataloging his photos on his Apple laptop and sharing them. September 28 was Fred's 83rd birthday.
We miss you, Dad!  Love, Ellen

Teddy & Tuffy MISS their DADDY!!!!!
